About this Project
Our client approached us requesting assistance in the design and erection of a steel shed on one of their properties in Shamva, Mashonaland East. The main activities that Helios Construction Services carried out for the client were:
- Drainage, Civil and Architectural Designs
- Production of BoQ & Initial Cost Estimate
- Tendering of BoQ and Selection of Contractor
- Contractuals Between Client & Contractor
- Project Management of works by Contractor
- Certification of Works
- Handover & Final Account of Project
The main works consisted of first preparing a platform for the shed, excavations of trenches and bases, pouring of concrete, fixing of steel plates for bases, erection of steel frame including the cladding, construction of exterior slab, storage room, ancilliary rooms, and powerfloated concrete floors.
As with the nature of the use of shed, and remoteness of location, a boundary wall was raised around the site.
A sliding gate was also installed. Due to the slope of the site, it was also recommended that a retaining wall be constructed.
A changehouse was installed on site, a solar borehole set up with a storage capacity of 20 000L on stands, solar lights were also installed around the site to provide lighting at night.
The footing for offices was constructed as well.
